Must Have Wedding Day Photos

When thinking about your wedding day, there are a ton of details! Trust your photographer to have his/her eye sharp for the day, but sending them a list of “must have” shots prior to your wedding day is so helpful.

Detail Shots

Super “trendy” right now, but oh so beautiful! Ask your photographer for simple, yet stunning shots of all the details leading up to your big day. Pro Tip: Pack all your details up before the wedding and place them in a box. When your photographer arrives on your wedding day, simply give them the box and your rings. They’ll have everything they need in one place, and you will not be scrambling to find these things while simultaneously trying to get ready!

Rehearsal Dinner

An often overlooked part of the wedding celebration, don’t forget to have your photographer capture the details at the Rehearsal Dinner, the night before the wedding. Likely, your mother-in-law has been hard at working planning this for you, but has not hired a photographer just for the hour or so dinner. Even if your professional photographer does not offer Rehearsal Dinner photography, designate a bridesmaid or family member who will already be there to capture details of the evening. Having someone take even just a few photos will help you remember the night!

Bride & Bouquet

A lovely way to capture both you and your wedding bouquet. Have your bouquet be the main focus of the photo, or just be sure it can be seen nicely from photos with you in them, regardless, we love this take on bridal portraits!

Bride & Bridesmaids

A must have as you and your best girlfriends will cherish these photos for years to come. After your wedding day, print, frame, or put them in a photobook, then give to your bridesmaids as a small thank you.

Individual Groomsmen

We love group bridal party shots, but are obsessed with the individual photos as well. Less crowded of a photo and especially helpful if you have a bridal party that may not all know eachother.

This more masculine shot (below) is perfect for the groomsmen. Ask your photographer to get creative with poses.

Intimate Bride & Groom Photography

Capture your true love. While photos like these may not be ones to post on social media, we envision your more intimate photographs blown up and hung over your bed in your first bedroom together or in a photobook that sits on your bedside table. Sweet moments like this are perfect for you and your new husband’s more private spaces.

Venue Aerials

A stunning way to capture your day. Shots like these show off your wedding day from the most unique perspective.

Prayer Photo

Prayer is a key to a healthy relationship with the Lord, and with your soon to be spouse. Celebrate this beautiful communication with a photo. If the prayer is with your girls, your family, or your groom, it reminds us who we have trusted to bring us to this point, and who we will trust for the rest of our marriage.
