Behind the Scenes of a Styled Shoot

It was another gorgeous day at First Fruits Farm. Blue skies, warm sunshine, and a cool breeze made for the perfect afternooon for a styled shoot.

Vendors from all around Eastern NC arrived to design and capture the perfect mock wedding day. Photographers, videographers, catereres, florists, bakers, and planners delivered their best product to our new Pier space to create wedding day ideas just for you!

The Theme

Today’s styled shoot was designed to give ideas to brides having an Intimate Wedding. Increasingly popular since 2020, we think smaller weddings are here to stay, and for good reason. An elopement styled wedding is easier on planning time, the budget, and those involved. It’s a hyper-focused and simplified day as compared to the traditional big Southern wedding.

The Set Up

The Ceremony Space

First was the ceremony space. The end of The Pier was set up beautifully for a small crowd. White chairs, mirror disks with floating candles, and an alter made of baby’s breath florals gave off both natural and elegant bridal vibes.

The Reception Space

Happening at the reception space, a long table graced the main part of the Pier and was filled with simple glassware, gold rimmed dinnerware, and a subtle baby blue focal feature. The blue and gold worked seamlessly with the water backdrop while adding beauty and whimsy to the outdoor wedding. Oh and notice all the shade? It serves as a welcome bonus!

The Caterer’s Space

In the corner of the Pier the caterer set up shop showing off lovely looking fruit water and delectable charcuterie boards. All wedding guests would be in love with this grazing option.

Every vendor in the midst of assembling their part of the wedding stopped and stared when the cake was delivered by the bakery. Capturing the attention of every experienced vendor on the doc, the cake was all we could talk about (and trust us, we’ve all seen a lot of cakes)!

The Action

After a few hours of set up (very similar to a real wedding) it was time for the action, camera action that is. Photographers and videographers got to work snapping away at the beauty that was created before them. It’s no small task to capture these details. Working against the sun and shadows, finding the right angle amidst busy bodies, and attempting to produce a final image that works both digitally and in print, most importantly capturing what is there just as you would see it on a real wedding day.

The Finished Product

That’s a wrap! Easier said than done of course, but we’re so thankful for vendors that take their time and resources to make styled shoots happen for our brides.
